Since its inception, the Bahá’í Community of Calgary has been a dedicated and enthusiastic member of the Calgary Interfaith Council; helping to shape its direction, offering valuable guidance, and actively supporting and promoting interfaith events throughout the city.
The Calgary Interfaith Council offers programming and support member initiatives that help us move into connection, discover and embrace our differences, and celebrate our common intention to live faith-inspired lives of kindness and creativity.
Head to their website for more information on numerous upcoming events, all of which are open to the public.

We’re honoured to share that our recent food drive was a tremendous success! Thanks to the generosity and spirit of the Bahá’í community, we collected over 1000 non-perishable food items to support students experiencing food insecurity.
In addition, a cash donation of $2425 will assist with the purchase of essential supplies.
This initiative not only filled shelves but also strengthened our shared commitment to compassion, equity, and community. Every donation-big or small-made a meaningful difference in helping students focus on their studies without worrying about their next meal.
In a recent Instagram post, the Student's Union at the University stated: "We're thrilled to recognize the incredible generosity of the Bahá’í community. This kind of compassion goes beyond then numbers. It's powerful reminder of what community care looks like."
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to everyone who donated, volunteered, or spread the word.

Since 2023, a dedicated group of Indigenous Bahá’ís and their friends have been creating a variety of educational and cultural events focused on Reconciliation.
Our goal is to learn together and better understand the lived experiences of Indigenous Peoples in Canada, all the while contributing to the ongoing process of Reconciliation.
To date, our activities have included several Reconciliation Cafés in downtown Calgary, open to everyone. Guests shared powerful stories, and traditional drummers and dancers added beautiful cultural meaning to the evenings.
We also hosted a Blanket Exercise, led by Blackfoot facilitators, offering a moving and eye-opening experience about the impacts of colonization.
Our Reconciliation Book Club gave participants a chance to explore these issues more deeply and discuss how we can all help change the narrative.
We continue to grow friendships and build bridges between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. Check back soon for upcoming programs and events. Everyone is welcome to join us on this learning journey!
